Laing House in Sackville

Laing House is excited to be working in the Sackville/Bedford/Fall River area with partners IWK Health Centre, Nova Scotia Health Authority, HRM Parks and Recreation and the MacPhee Centre for Creative Learning!

Together with our partners, Laing House offers several mental health programs and services including the FriendZone. The FriendZone program, run out of the Acadian Centre The Den, supports young people ages 15-19 to develop and maintain positive mental health. Through this program, youth have opportunities to do fun activities and to support peers in a healthy way.

The Den, which is staffed by Laing House, is led by HRM in partnership with Laing House and other community service providers. The partners work together to create a safe and inclusive drop-in space for youth aged 13 to 24.

Along with the programming at The Den, Laing House works with the staff at the Youth Health Centres in local high schools to support positive mental health. Watch for opportunities to participate in peer support training and fun social activities.
