One4One

Do you remember when someone was there for you?

A person who understood. Who knew how to help you focus, worked with you on a plan and to just feel better.

Someone who listened, didn’t judge and helped you solve a problem. A person who gave you hope.

That’s what happens when you donate to One 4 One.

“My Community Support Worker has the same mental illness as me, and the fact that she has gone through what I have gone through but is leading a happy and productive life gives me a lot of hope for the future.”  – Laing House Member

Your gift of $1000 to One 4 One provides staff support for a member when they need it most.

Whether it’s learning to cope with symptoms of their mental illness, setting and reaching goals, learning skills for independence, being physically active or applying for a job.

You can ensure that someone is there. Please, give to One 4 One today.

  3. To have access to the organization’s most recent financial statements.

  4. To be assured their gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were given.

  5. To receive appropriate acknowledgement and recognition.

  6. To be assured that information about their donations is handled with respect and with confidentiality to the extent provided by law.

  7. To expect that all relationships with individuals representing organizations of interest to the donor will be professional in nature.

  8. To be informed whether those seeking donations are volunteers, employees of the organization or hired solicitors.

  9. To have the opportunity for their names to be deleted from mailing lists that an organization may intend to share.

  10. To feel free to ask questions when making a donation and to receive prompt, truthful and forthright answers.

Making a planned gift is a thoughtful and personal way to contribute to an organization that you care about. This type of gift can also be a very practical addition to a financial or estate plan when tax implications are considered.

Your choice to make a gift to Laing House will create a lasting impact to empower youth living with mental illness. Through your generosity, Laing House members will know that there is a community that cares for their mental health and their recovery.

Please consider sharing the gift of your legacy with Laing House. For more information, please call us at (902) 425-9018.

Your contribution to Laing House, whether large or small, can make a difference in the lives of youth living with mental illness. Come up with an idea and host your own event or activity to raise money for Laing House!

Ideas to help you along the way:

  • Host a gathering with your friends, family and/or colleagues and support Laing House at the same time by asking them to bring a donation in lieu of a host gift.

  • Organize a charity tournament (golf, softball, Frisbee, etc.) so your friends and/or colleagues can enjoy a day of fun and friendly competition while raising funds for Laing House.

  • Cause-related marketing is a creative opportunity for your business to promote its support of Laing House. Develop a unique product or service promotion that underlines your support of youth mental health, or you could give a portion of sales to Laing House.

  • Scotiabank Group Charity Challenge gives participants of the Scotiabank Blue Nose Marathon the opportunity to raise pledges towards their run or walk.
