2009 Laing House Masquerade Ball, Almost $140,000 (net profit)!

The Laing House Masquerade Ball committee decided in 2009 to start taking the event ‘around the world’.  The first stop for this black tie affair was the ever resilient and always welcoming New York City.  Guests walked through Central Park as they chatted with friends in the reception area at for the Laing House Masquerade Ball, A Night in New York, at the Cunard Centre on Saturday, October, 24, 2009.

Dinner at the Ball took guests to Tavern on the Green in the middle of Central Park, New York City.  Peter Harrison kept things rolling through the New York themed dinner, which included Waldorf salad, New York Strip loin, and, of course, New York cheesecake.  A new DVD produced by Egg Films, a spoken word presentation by Laura, a Peer Support staff, and a speech by Fergus, a Laing House member, were the highlights of the evening. 

An energetic live auction by the folks at Manheim was quickly followed by dancing the night away to Big Fish.  The event raised almost $140,000 net profit for Laing House and youth living with mental illness.  Thank you to everyone that made this night a success.
