Creative Arts Program

Acknowledging the role of creativity in recovery, Laing House offers a variety of creative pursuits for members. The Drop-In Art Program at Laing House helps members to express themselves non-verbally, reconnect with their creativity, and build their confidence. Exploring the art of writing is the focus of the Writers Circle. The group meets weekly, and partakes in a variety of creative writing exercises. Consisting of imaginative and improvisational games, the Drama Club provides a forum to break down walls and facilitate recovery by giving people an opportunity to escape their problems while simultaneously expanding their repertoire of coping skills. The Drama Club offers improvisational games, ice breakers, community and team building exercises, and some basic scene work.
