Past Board Chair Won Spirit Award
Jeff Somerville, Past Chair of the Board of Directors for Laing House received a 2009 Spirit Award. The evening ceremony was held on Wednesday, April 15th at the Holiday Inn Select in Halifax as part of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Maritime conference. Somerville was one of ten local volunteers recognized that evening for their contribution to nonprofit organizations. Jeff Somerville continues to be a tireless advocate, champion, and fundraiser for Laing House. Jeff has been a member of the Board of Laing House since 2002, and was Chair of the Board from 2005 - 2008. Jeff’s guidance, commitment and leadership have been essential in ensuring the viability, sustainability, and ultimately, the success of Laing House.
